Health creation is about providing the conditions for people to be healthy and helping them to be so. In this first series, Nigel Crisp explores with leading figures from different sectors ideas and practical examples of health creation ‘in action,’ looking in turn at ‘communities and health; housing and planning; food and the environment; race and inclusion, and a case study of how one English county is taking the initiative.
In this second programme, planner Rosie Rowe will be describing the development of Bicester as both an eco-town and a Healthy NHS New town, and Araceli Camargo, a neuroscientist, will be exploring the biological link between health and place. Nigel Crisp will be joined by the two presenters and Hazel Stuteley of C2 Connecting Communities and Professor Sir Harry Burns, Scotland’s former Chief Medical Officer to discuss these and other examples of the importance of good housing and planning in helping to build a healthy and health-creating society.
